London

Photobucket
Alright guys! I just touch down Kuala Lumpur! yep, back from London eh... I must say I will miss you London and I'll be back with Hooi Ling :) such a short trip and I wish I can stay longer. To Steve, Leanne, both of your families, Colin's family - thanks for the directions and advice in Windsor & London on how to get around it and the cup of tea :) Anthony - Thanks for the night at your place, hope I didn't trouble you much and the cup of tea :) Emma - really nice meeting you! Angeline - Thanks again for your help for the map for London! and anyone that I forgot to mention, thanks guys! your hospitality is fantastic! :)

To Steve and Leanne, Thanks for the opportunities to shoot both of your wedding in Malaysia and in UK, the "original Scottish breakfast" I couldn't imagine I will have my first pig blood in UK haha! and both of your families are awesome! It feels like I'm apart of the family members you know?? hahaha! I'm serious! "I'll be back to trouble you guys!"

YaYa, the photo above, Its taken while I'm on my way to London, its so cool! because of the time differences, the plane actually chasing the sun! it took the sun to go down after 1 hour while it took much less time normally and you can actually see 1 half of the "world" is lit, while the other half already dark (you guys knows what I mean? my apology for the grammer eh) :) will get more photos update soon.... having jet-lag now! wot! WHATEVER!

Your song

Photobucket
I'm listening to "Your Song" by Elton John & Alessandro Safina while writing this, I do love to listen to songs while I'm doing my work, :) surprisingly listening to songs always helps me to come out with something that I can write on what I think at this moment.. In the beginning of my road of shooting weddings, I always think of "getting what you see as it is, Louis, remember not to pose anything" hahaha I guess this is what people will say I'm a surrealism freak! I guess that is the challenge of being a photographer, record down the event as it is, not so much of indulging of directing everything you come across just because you saw that same marvelous shots by some other photographer, therefore, you need to create one. I did this mistakes many times... I think my client loves it, but in fact they don't really do... in fact, they loved those simple yet heart "wrenching" shots like family group photos! (yeah you might laugh at me posting this, but this is what I noticed, they might have certain family members that the couple haven't seen them for years ok!) I'm blessed to have photographer friends to encourage each other on building your own style, to express your own creativity and to have your own views on certain things happening around you... I guess this is how you will grow as a person and not mimicking anyone :) *1 line from the song for all my lovely clients "And you can tell everybody this is your song" :)

Alright, time to update some of these... I covered Jo's sister wedding (you can find their photos here, look for KG&Joanna) it feels like I'm like their family photographer... attending this wedding leads me to many thoughts... seeing my former client even having their second child.. it is like being apart of their family... Thanks guys! pstt: oh ya... they are Docs, if you wonder about the title hahahahaha!

Cameron Highland

Photobucket
Hi Guys! Its Friday again :) I guess it is time to update. This photo that I took on a recent trip with Hooi Ling at Cameron Highland, I always wonder how can I shoot a nice Cameron Tea plantation photo despite of my many attempt and I just can't get the color, contrast and most important of all.. the feel of it haha! I guess I got it this time and at least this is the best of all the years attempting to get 1. Sometimes I just can't help it but to sit down to think and ask myself this question over and over again, "Louis, what you love to shoot most?" Well, I won't tell you that I love to shoot wedding the most, serious. I remembered I've been asked before "Why you love to take wedding pictures?" I told him straight "because I loved to see people happy". Yeah thats the only reason I can think off and it is as simple as that. Many asked me this as well "Why don't you get your photos on competition and get some awards? then your business will grow!" HAhaHA! using my client's important occasion for my own gain and fame? I always telling myself this, that I'm one of the honoured guest to get an invitation to a wedding, I wanted to record down what I witnessed and not to look for an award winning photo. As for me, it is already enough to see my clients' happy face in the end of everything, a big hug, a thank you is what I'm looking for. On one occasion, the day suppose to be a bad day for me... towards the end of their reception, both the bride & groom gave me a BIG HUG saying thank you! ahhhhh I can't recall anything bad happening to me anymore. Thank you ya'll! you know who you are! hahahaha!
